Example of how to have a Pro2 serve web pages to a Browser(PC). The fundamentals are similar when working with any ethernet 2-series processor.
Note: Refer to the attached .pdf at the bottom of the page for additional information on setting up and using eControl

Setting up the SimplWindows program, Configuration View
1) Add a Pro2, [Control Systems] folder
2) Add a C2ENET-1 or -2 card, [Plug-in Control Cards], [Cards, 2-Series Z Bus]
3) Add an e-Control XPanel Interface definition, [Ethernet Control Modules], [Ethernet Modules Generic]
a. Configure the e-Control XPanel Interface by single right mouse select, select [Configure], select the [IP Net Address] tab
b. Assign an IP ID and IP Address, this defines the XPanel project to the Control System.
c. Select an IP ID, this is similar in function to a Touchpanels Cresnet ID. Each IP ID must be unique. An IP ID is independent of Cresnet and used exclusively for Ethernet. For example, IP ID 03 will not conflict with a Touchpanel Cresnet ID 03 when used in the same SimplWindows program.
d. Assign the IP Address of the Control System that will be serving the web pages or assign 127.0.0.1 which is the universal loop-back address*
Ex: IP Address 132.149.11.2 or IP Address 127.0.0.1
* Using 127.0.0.1 in the XPanel symbol definition as the IP Address will allow the SimplWindows program to be independent of the actual Control Systems IP Address. This allows the SimplWindows program to be loaded in a Control system without having to make changes to it, this can be very useful if setting up cookie cutter rooms or if the Control System IP Address is not currently known.

4) Open the Ethernet folder, Slot 8, under Central Control Modules
a. Select and open up in [Detail View] the e-Control XPanel definition at the IP ID as specified earlier in Step 3B above.
b. Assign button presses and feedback as you would any other TouchPanel, this is for all Digital, Analog and Serial signals.
5) Add appropriate control logic in the Logic Folder
6) Compile and Upload the SimplWindows program to the Control System
Note: Must also send the default IP Table, this lets the Control System know which IP ID to accept commands from.
Setting the Control System IP Address
1) Open Viewport. Must connect serially to set the Control Systems IP Address.
2) Select [Functions], [Set Control System IP Information]
Ex: IP Address 132.149.11.2, IP Mask 255.255.0.0
Note: Do not set the Control System IP Address to 127.0.0.1
Setting up the VTPro-e Browser project
1) Open VTPro-e, Create a new project with a panel type TouchPanel definition of [XPANEL]
a.Create pages/ sub-pages as you would any 2-way Touchpanel.
b. Assign associated Join numbers to buttons as you would any 2-way Touchpanel.
2) Assign the IP ID and IP Address to the XPanel Project
a. Close all pages and sub-pages, then select [Edit], [Project Properties] and then the [Web] tab.
b. IP ID 03, Control System IP Address 132.149.11.2 or 127.0.0.1*
* Allows the XPanel project to be independent of the Control Systems IP Address.
Note: New for VTPro releases after v3.2.1.8 is the addition of the [Gateway Info] field. Enter either the actual Control system IP Address here also or enter 0.0.0.0. Do Not Enter 127.0.0.1 in the [Gateway Info] field.
Note: By default the web pages use port 80 and the Control System communication port uses 41794.
3) Select the [Compile] tab. Output type [Release], target [Browser]. Initialization HTML page name, this is the page name that is selected to be loaded to the Control System in Step 5 below.
4) Compile VTPro-e Web Browser Project. Select [File], [Compile project]
5) Upload VTPro-e Browser project to the Control System
Open Viewport, select [File Transfer], [Send Web Pages] browse and select the Initialization (default) page, ie: Main.html
Testing the program
Open a browser application, for example Internet Explorer
In the browser, enter the actual IP Address of the control system.
Ex: http://132.149.11.2 , using 127.0.0.1 will not work.
Click [Yes] to the 'Do you want to install and run Crestron e-control 2' pop-up
Note: If reloading either the SimplWindows or XPanel project you may have to close and then reopen your Browser if unable to reestablish the connection to the Control processor.

If you have the original VTProE files (.vtp) you can Save As from SG XPanel 2.0 Web (.html + assets) to SG XPanel 2.0 Exe (.c3p). Otherwise the XPanel Conversion Tool (planned for release some time around October) will be able to download XPanel Web files and generate the.c3p with just the XPanel Web URL. XPanel for Mac Interface module I'm trying to install Xpanel on a mac with the XPanel for Mac Interface module in Simpl windows, When I try to run the app on the Mac it wants a password. The documentation says this gets set in the simpl windows definition.
